Creative bibs

The athletes in the sprint races will wear special bibs on Friday, 27 January 2023. As part of a painting competition, primary school classes in Graubünden designed various motifs, the most beautiful of which will be produced as a set of start numbers for the IBU Open European Championships. The winning design was chosen by a class from Trimmis based on a vote.

The painting competition was an advent campaign of the organizing committee of the IBU Open European Championships Biathlon from 25 to 29 January 2023 in Lenzerheide. In the run-up to the event, all primary school classes in Graubünden were contacted and informed about the competition, which met with great interest: around 200 drawings were accepted. An internal jury consisting of Jürg Capol (CEO IBU Biathlon World Championships 2025), Luana Bergamin (Head of Event Marketing/Ticketing), Marc Schlüssel (CMO Lenzerheide Marketing und Support AG), Maurin Malär (Municipal President Vaz/Obervaz) and Selina Gasparin (Biathlon Ambassador and Olympic silver medallist) decided on five favourites, from which the most beautiful motif was selected by voting. The winner was the design of class 3A from Trimmis. This design will now be produced as a set of start numbers for the men's sprint race on Friday, 27 January 2023. The winning school class will receive an exclusive tour of the Roland Arena in Lantsch/Lenz with A look behind the scenes.
